Sheila started her career in academia, pursuing a PhD in History with specializations in medical history, the history of science, and Canadian history. Her thesis analyzes the intersections of feminism, science, and eugenics on the Canadian prairies. She worked as a professional dog trainer for 5 years before transitioning into veterinary care.
Sheila enjoys being able to assist in the health and wellness of animals, and learning new things every day. She spends her spare time competing in a variety of dog sports. She is also a professional dog sport judge, certified in massage therapy, canine fitness, and dog training.
Sheila shares her life with 11 dogs, 3 guinea pigs and an assortment of rats.
